My flight home from NoLa was delayed so I booked a new one. After security, I went to check the flight status on a departure info screen: it said my plane was now leaving in 10mins(!!!). I went to a different display to verify and it said the same thing so I sprinted to my gate, which you already know HAD to be the furthest one in the terminal 😂 When I got there, it turns out there was a typo on the screen and that my flight was actually delayed, and not early. After what felt like an eternity later, I finally landed in Boston… only to discover I left my house keys in NoLa. I felt so defeated that I decided to take the train off to take my mind off things. When I got above ground, it had begun raining 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Share w/ me your travel fails ⬇️ comic relief is much appreciated right now
It’s so hard and awkward asking rando’s to take photos for you during a pandemic. Luckily a kind woman walking by offered to snap one of @callhimcass and me. But of course that was also the same exact moment that I suffered from an intense laugh attack. I don’t even remember what I was cracking up about anymore but from the looks of it, it was something really, really funny.
2/3 of a month left until 2021! Can’t wait to leaf 🍁🍃 it all behind. Something that has helped get me through this brutal year was focusing on my perspective. Instead of seeing it as “damn, my whole year is canceled”, I viewed it as “wow I have time to give my body a break”. And instead of “I can’t go anywhere” I told myself “I get to stay home to work on projects I’ve neglected”. Growth is not possible w/o pain and all the hard stuff, I’m grateful that I learned so much from 2020! What is something positive you took away from this year?
CONFESSION: I looovveeeeee editing photos w/ cotton candy skies. The sky is by far my favorite element to play w/ in Lightroom and Photoshop, it literally brings me so much joy!! I’ve been told by numerous ppl that I should eliminate colorful skies b/c it makes my feed look “unnatural, unrealistic, and fake” (as if makeup on models and plastic surgery look “real” 🙄🙄🙄). I kind of used to let this feedback get to me cuz I cared what other people thought about my feed and that’s where I was incredibly wrong. It doesn’t offend me that my feed isn’t for everyone - it never was meant to be that way. I know there are people that appreciate my work as it is and follow my page for that reason. This is the space I designed for my own creative expression and it doesn’t exist for other people to violate. So BYE BYE to all the comments/haters that were living rent free in my head 😘✌️
I went on a solo journey the day I took this photo. I had plugged in my destination on Google Maps and then realized it brought me to a trail I was supposed to explore w/ @callhimcass the next day (I didn’t realize the trail had multiple names 😅). Stranded in the park w/o signal, I ended up just driving around aimlessly and came across this river that I otherwise never would have stopped at! This ended up being one of my top 3 favorite photos from the trip. As cheesy as it sounds, this was such a nice reminder that it’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey!
We hit the trail that day 30 mins later than planned. It made me a little anxious cuz I don’t prefer to hike in the dark, especially if it’s a trail I’ve never done. But I couldn’t have been more grateful cuz we got to the summit just in time to catch one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen this year! It felt like the sky was putting on a show for us, rapidly changing colors by the second. Oh and to top it off, there was a surprise proposal happening there at that time too! Despite running late, my heart was overfilled with joy. These were friendly reminders that everything in life happens for a reason and that things don’t have to go as planned in order for them to be perfect 💖💖💖 Have you ever had an unexpected change in an itinerary that lead to a better outcome?
